Breakfast: 3,5€ – 14€
Lunch: 6,5€ – 13,5€

We first came here for an oat-milk cappuccino and breakfast. Then again, for a flat white and some lunch. And then a third time, for a cup of Easy Rider from Wide Awake coffee roaster, to write about this strangely name café, two feet away from Bozar.

When chatting with Alice, the owner, we soon realized our common interest for the very first – almost sacred if I may say – coffee of the day. More than just coffee, it’s a rather precious moment, like a daily rendez-vous. It’s what drove Alice to open a place that’d be open in the mornings, rather than the evenings, and where locals from the neighborhood would meet every day. The idea of knowing the passers-by by their first name and remembering their orders is something we’re completely down with. It’s actually something we do almost daily as customers ourselves, being located quite close to Belga & Co in Ixelles, and we just love the idea.

Unlike what you may think when hearing the name – boudin roughly translates into a type of sausage, in French – the offer here is 100% vegetarian. Breakfast, lunch and brunch on weekends, and of course fresh pastries are served daily. In the kitchen, Alice teamed up with Chloé, who used to work at Mica, and who now only works with local and seasonal produce, very much like Ottolenghi. That day, we had falafel, muhammara and taboulé (12,50€), just as sunny as it was outside.

Completely vegetarian, we said that already. Why call it Café Boudin then? Well simply because it reflects Alice’s fun and joyful personality, and is also a reference to a place she loved in San Francisco, where the very idea of opening her own place started blooming.

The idea of Le Brunch Club en Ville? To recreate the emblematic Brunch Club in a unique setting – Galerie du Passage du Nord, get together to feast around a single table seating 100 people and enjoy the delicious food of our favorite downtown restaurants – our very special guests for this event.

For the rest, we kept everything you love just the same: tons of good vibes, an amazing 7-course gourmet tasting menu served with Chandon Garden Spritz, our 0.0% Botaniets cocktail, Kefir Eau Vertueuse, Uphill Brewing nitro coffee, San Pellegrino water.

Our amazing chef line-up for 2022 edition :

In short, it was amazing 🔥 Let’s do it again in 2023?

BBP Bailli

beers, pizza & small plates

Du lundi au mardi de 17h à 00h,
du mercredi au jeudi de 17h à 1h
le vdd de 17h à 2h, le samedi de 15h à 2h
et le dimanche de 15h à 00h
Pizza: 12€ – 18€
Petits plats: 4€ – 14€

If you haven’t tried them yet, you’ve probably already spotted them on rue du Bailli: their bright and colorful facade is hard to miss. For a year already, the place has been a hub for beer lovers, taken over by the famous Brussels Beer Project, a Brussels-based micro-brewery we support and love. If you’re a beer lover living in Brussels, chances are you’ve already had a sip on either a Grosse Bertha, a Delta or even a Jungle Joy.

BBP Bailli is already the team’s second venue, after BBP Dansaert downtown. The beers are the same, but difference lies mostly in the setting and atmosphere, fully dedicated to their brand identity. The light, music, decoration – every table, every object, every menu reflects their DNA. It’s tacky, definitely – neons all over the place and disco pizza oven with flashy colors -, but it’s perfectly done, and we simply love it.

You must know by now how our team loves to drink and eat, and figured we directly aimed for the food menu when we noticed there was more than chips with the beers. A few plates to share, and about a dozen Neapolitan pizzas – perfect to grab a bite or even to have a proper dinner, without having to go places.

Last time we came, the weather was warm enough to sit outside, where we enjoyed roman artichokes (8,50€), pimentos del padrón with harissa mayo (8€), and, of course, a pizza. Following the bartender’s advice, we went for the Basil Boom (16€), which was simply delicious, with a dough cooked to perfection. In our glasses, a Jungle Joy and a Pico Bello (0%) to go with the last rays of sunshine. Summer is definitely here, and BBP’s terrace is one of the best places to welcome it.

Whether you decide to sit in or have a drink outside – definitely two whole different types of settings and of atmospheres, and we can only recommend both – you won’t regret having a beer here.
