At first glance, Môme feels like your classic neighborhood bistro.
Gingham tablecloths, a seventies vibe, and a chalkboard menu listing three starters and three mains. But once the food hits the table, things get a lot more interesting.
Chef Raffi trained in the kitchens of Bozar before opening Môme with his partner Emma, who runs the front of house. The menu leans into technique and seasonality, with dishes like pigeon (€32), a vegetable Pithivier with a rich jus (€26), or pâté en croûte when it’s on the specials. It’s concise, thoughtful, and constantly evolving depending on what’s in.
In the kitchen, Raffi is joined by his brother Arcady and his sous-chef François, who’s spent time in Korea and Barcelona and brings in subtle global influences – adding a bit of edge and playfulness to the menu. Case in point: a Thai-style spider pork salad we had for lunch, layered with fish sauce, chili, cilantro, fennel, and pear. A real standout.
At night, the whole place shifts. The lighting drops to candlelight, the acoustics are just right, and the space becomes perfect for slower, more intimate conversations. The drinks are just as thoughtful: the non-alcoholic cocktails are a highlight – especially a beautifully balanced 0% Americano – and the coffee is taken seriously too. Emma is a trained barista, and it shows in every cup.
