La Stazione

A brand-new Italian spot in Brussels, and already a new favorite.

La Stazione is the best of everything: a grocery stocked with Italian products, an open kitchen, a great selection of wines and vermouth, and a short menu with just a few starters and pastas — all cooked to perfection.

Let’s go back for a second to the vitello tonnato, as beautiful as it was delicious, and the scamorza with tomato, pure comfort food. Then came the spaghetti with anchovy butter (€17), the house’s signature dish — excellent, and one that will always stay on the menu. Alongside that, linguine in a shrimp bisque topped with an ultra-thin carpaccio of Sicilian red prawns.

Honestly, it was next-level good. You’ll also find more classic pastas like ragù, as well as a rotating meat dish.

We wrapped things up with a lemon panna cotta (€7), wonderfully creamy — which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given.
