Rascal’s

This is the British-style canteen where breakfast turns into brunch without you even noticing.

All the classics are there, with an aesthetic and a touch of humor that mix authenticity with a wink of second degree. Take a quick trip to the restroom and you’ll see exactly what I mean — the kind of detail I can’t help but love.

Think formica tables that feel like school desks, bottles of Worcestershire sauce set out on every table, and warm scones straight from the oven (€6.80). On the menu: full English breakfast, Scotch eggs (€10), and of course, fish and chips (€18). There’s even bingo on Thursday nights — something I’ll definitely need to come back for.

What I already love here is the super friendly service, the filter coffee that’s always happily refilled, and the fact that you can order a savory breakfast no matter the time of day. Far from being a hipster concept, this is a true neighborhood spot — one I can’t recommend enough.
