Today I want to share a true hidden gem: a table d’hôte that takes place every Friday night, serving Japanese food “just like at home.”

In the summer, Mariko and her husband Emmanuel welcome you into their stunning greenhouse and garden, surrounded by tomato plants, finger limes, fig trees and apricot trees. Whether you sit inside or outside, it genuinely feels like home.

The €38 menu includes two small starters — crisp vegetables and an excellent kimchi–sweet potato pancake — followed by a main plate with a variety of small preparations, just like in Japan. Everything was tasty, beautifully presented, and prepared with real care.

We paired it with a lovely bottle of Loin de l’Oeil, recommended by the owner, and finished with a matcha chiffon cake before leaving this sublime spot — one I almost wanted to keep all to myself.
