A terrace full of sunshine and damn good coffee! Don’t wait.
When Pierre tells us he’s finally found a place to open the coffee shop of his dreams, we’re all ears. What we didn’t expect however, is that he would open it between Rogier and Yser. Great news for the neighborhood, and a good reason to get us moving across the city.
Pierre co-founded Damn Good Café with Louise, Eleonore and Paul. All four of them have been trained at Belga & Co, which you should know by now. Barista, roaster, pastry chef and chef – the team is perfectly equipped to face this new challenge, and to do it well. But their true strength, according to us, is their super positive energy.
They’ve managed to bring out this energy into their coffee bar, which, though it’s been open for a few days only, is already full of life, charisma, and soul. Coffee-wise, they’ve decided to work with the beans from Way Coffee Roasters in Gent, which Pierre roast himself for the bar.
We had two of their sandwiches for lunch, one with pulled pork, roast ham, Emmental and pickles, and the other with meatballs with marinara sauce, parmigiano and Emmental (12,50€ each). They both were super generous and completely homemade. We finished the meal with a brownie (3€), delicious and incredibly light.
A place full of promises for the neighborhood, an amazing team, a terrace full of sunshine and damn good coffee! Don’t wait.
