Since Sophie reopened two months ago, almost nothing has changed at this spot we’ve loved for the past ten years. Fresh flowers still sit on the counter, cakes still come straight out of the oven, and Sophie’s radiant smile is still there to welcome you.
But while the soul of the place remains intact, the menu has taken a fabulous new turn. Emma is now in the kitchen, serving up the kind of lunch dishes we’d literally been dreaming of.
On the menu: a few fun bites for apéro, like deviled eggs with anchovies and pineapple basil, followed by three daily specials (€20). We tried a delicious chicken tikka masala with black lentils, a spanakopita with gazpacho and a little Greek salad, and the showstopper — bouchot mussels with fresh tomatoes and samphire.
“So, what would you change?” Sophie asked us.
“Nothing at all,” we replied — except to say how happy we are to have her back in the neighborhood.
